Audio/Visual

We are always looking for volunteers to help with our sound and lighting systems during regular worship services.

Operators for the Sound and Light systems need very minimal experience.  Training is provided and usually takes only about forty minutes to complete.  Supervised practice during a normal worship service completes the training.  After training, new operators are added to a schedule that usually requires a volunteer commitment of one Sunday per month.

Our current system for sound reinforcement is set up so it requires only adjusting the volume controls of the various microphones used during worship. This system does not include the sound equipment used by the praise band.

The light board controls the lighting in the sanctuary.  Its operation is also very simple.  A collection of pre-set controls changes the lighting as desired by pushing one or two buttons.

Please contact Jim Searls or the church office if you are interested in becoming involved in the sound and lighting portion of our Sunday worship.

The Video System Operator

The current video system involves operating a computer that control the images projected on the two large screens in the sanctuary.  The computer utilizes a program called Easy Worship.  Operators are trained to select and load a pre-programmed file.  They then advance the presentation by clicking on the appropriate slides with the mouse.   The operation of Easy Worship is similar to other presentation software, such as Microsoft PowerPoint.  Occasionally there may be a need to play and project a DVD.  This would require switching to a secondary video source.

New Operators need to have a basic understanding of computer operation and the ability to pay attention to the details of the worship service.  Training is provided and may take up to an hour.   After initial training, supervised practice will take place during actual worship services.  New operators are then added to a schedule that usually requires a volunteer commitment of one Sunday per month.
