Reverend Brad Bartelmay
Brad was born and raised in the greater Youngstown, Ohio area and is a graduate of Youngstown State University with a degree in Geology and of Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois with a Master of Divinity degree. He is an ordained elder in the United Methodist and a past recipient of the Denman Evangelism Award. Brad currently serves on the Council on Finance and Administration for the West Michigan Conference, on the Board of Directors of the United Methodist Foundation of Michigan and on the Mission Council of the North Central Jurisdiction of the United Methodist Church. He also has experience in leading seminars in local church stewardship, conflict management and in vision/mission development.
Brad enjoys the outdoors, and has been a backpacker, camper and hiker since childhood, and has explored national and regional parks across North America. He also enjoys cooking and is an avid reader. His wife Sherri Swanson is also a United Methodist pastor serving Georgetown United Methodist in Jenison. They have three sons. The oldest, Ben, serves in the Peace Corp in the island nation of Comoros. The younger two, Tom and Sam, are twins currently enrolled in college. Tom is studying jazz guitar at Wayne State University and Sam in studying mechanical engineering at Grand Valley State University.
